Five ISAF soldiers injured
KHOST (AIP): Five soldiers of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were wounded by Taliban in Khost City, the NATO-led force said Tuesday. “Five ISAF servicemembers have been wounded in this incident. All are receiving medical treatment,” ISAF press office told Afghan Islamic Press. Taliban suicide bombers launched coordinated attacks yesterday in Khost City in which according to a local officials four police were wounded and three suicide bombers were killed. Local residents, however, said a passer-by was also killed in explosion in Sargardan Chowk. They said the dead body of an attacker was seen at the site of the clash which shows that rest of the attackers escaped. Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attacks and told Afghan Islamic Press that attacks were mounted by five suicide bombers. He said the Taliban attacked battled Afghan and foreign troops for two hours and inflicted huge casualties on them. Mujahid said only one bomber was killed in the attack and four returned safely to their base.
