ARCS distributes edibles in Helmand
LASHKARGAH (PAN): Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) distributed edibles to around 200 displaced families in the volatile Helmand province, an official said. Asadullah Mayar regional director for ARCS told Pajhwok Afghan News around 200 families from Shoraki, Qala-i-Gaz, Zambli, Haidarabad and Adam Khan areas of Greshk district displaced due to insurgency in the region have received edibles. He added people of the mentioned areas had no purchasing power due to food shortage and price hike and they have distributed them edibles and equipments provided by International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to them. The ARCS regional director said they plan to distribute edibles and equipments to another district of Garmser in the future. More than 20,000 families have been forced to leave their houses from deferent districts in the volatile province during the recent insurgency.
