Balochistan is victim of foreign involvement
Sattar Baloch
Balochistan, has been in the grip of foreign sponsored sporadic acts of terror. Most active in the province has been the Indian intelligence agency ‘RAW’ which wanted to open a second front in a bid to divert the government focus from FATA where it has invested hugely in fanning the militancy. There are other foreign agencies operating in Balochistan besides the Indian one. Their unequivocal support to the failed and irrelevant militant Baloch leaders, who enjoy superior authority over Baloch, has been immense. These agencies thrive by exploiting the colonial mindsets of these leaders to destabilize the province. The daily target killings of non-locals lead to indicate the foreign involvement to create misunderstanding between Baloch and Punjabis and also escalate the hatred between two nations. The same game plan of East-Bengal is being appliedinside Balochistan to destabilize Pakistan. Couple of months ago more than 30 persons were killed most of whom were teachers. The situation inside Balochistan is going from bad to worse. For India, Balochistan has been another soft target in its bid to destabilize Pakistan. Whereas India fuels the militancy in Pakistan’s North Western and FATA through a series of Consulates along the Pakistan borders, it sponsors Balochistan Liberation Front, Balochistan Republican Army and Baloch Liberation Army through its Consulates located at Zahedan and Mazar in Iran and Kabul in Afghanistan. Not only these Consulates provide funding and guidance to the insurgents in Balochistan they also provide explosives and weapons for terror activities inside the province. What is wrong in Balochistan is due to foreign involvement and recklessness of our federal government. The bureaucracy deliberately exploited the situation of Balochistan, they have never been patriotic with Pakistan. It is obligatory that the federal government should give more opportunities of development in Balochistan. The FC should be deployed on Afghan border rather than cities. Levies force and police should take the control. It is humbly requested to Baloch brothers to create tolerance and respect the law and order inside province. Unfortunately the whole missionary and system of government is in the hands of corrupt leaders, that is why our enemy is taking advantages, we must reform and look into our self. Analysts and experts are unable to rule out the possibility of Indian involvement in the killing of three Baloch nationalist leaders a couple of months ago that triggered widespread on-going riots in Balochistan and the recent death of Rasool Bukhsh Mengal whose body was found near his village. The method of killing was quite brutal and it put fuel on the burning fire. This could serve multiple anti-Pakistan objectives like an accusing state’s security apparatus behind the killings and proving guilty in the eyes of Baloch people to destabilize Pakistan. Creating insurgency-like situation in the whole province, paving ideal grounds for a possible drone attack inside Balochistan, discomforting the possibility of reconciliation efforts between the PPP-led Government and the angry nationalist leaders, by killing the nationalist (Ghulam Muhammad Baloch) that won the credit of playing a major role in the release of John Solecki, chief of the UN Human Rights Commission in Balochistan. Since 1947 Indians have been involved in different rebellious activities to destabilize Pakistan. Due to foreign involvement, the situation in Balochistan is going worst day by day. The daily target killings of the innocent locals have become a sensitive issue in Balochistan. The Indian Agencies are involved in killing the innocent people to fuel the situation more hazardous The reconciliation efforts should not be hijacked by any particular incident. It is true that past governments were responsible for the present situation in Balochistan and India is just exploiting the bad situation. The PPP government is the part of those enemies who are exploiting the situation of Balochistan more. The Baloch public should not expect any compassion from these so-called leaders and Sardars. They have always been the part of bureaucray, because history is mirror, now this is the time Pakistani nation should be united and self-respect of sub-nations should be given preference. The greatest sin of our rulers has been that they have never tried to better the economic and political conditions in Balochistan despite repeated promises from them since the creation of Pakistan. Balochistan remains the most neglected province and 88 per cent of its population lives in miserable conditions. It is important to remove the mistrust between the Baloch and the Federation by adopting Confidence Building Measures coupled with cessation of all violent activities from both sides. After creating a positive environment, the negotiation on actual demands for Baloch rights should begin. The opportunity of jobs must be created for the Baloch young educated people and the question of deprivation must be removed. However, there is a need to identify the Baloch representatives who can influence the outcome of any negotiation. Equally important is the identification of Indian designs of targeting development activities in Balochistan. About the involvement of RAW, it is better for India to concentrate on her own situation rather than interfering in neighbouring countries because India itself is going to break in near future. All eastern states, including Assam, Manipur, Nagaland etc are fighting for independence, apart from that south India demands for Dravidstan, Sikhs are fighting for Khalistan and Kashmiris for its independence.
