| PESHAWAR: There will be two Eidul Fitrs this year as the moon sighting committee of Masjid Qasim Ali had declared the sighting of Eid moon on the basis of 20 evidences received by the committee.
The ANP government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also supported the Masjid Qasim Ali committee. Bashir Bilour, senior provincial minister, has on the behalf of the provincial government announced celebration of Eid today (Friday).
In North Wiziristan too, six men came forward as witnesses to the sighting of Shawwal moon on Thursday.
A moon sighting committing was sitting in the main mosque of Miran Shah to receive evidences of moon sighting. Many members of the public celebrated the moon sighting by aerial firing.
In Bannu, Mardan, Nowshera and all over Tribal Area Ulema announced Eid on Friday after accepting the evidence of moon sighting by witnesses.
However, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee after a meeting held in Karachi on Thursday evening announced that as no authentic evidence of moon sighting has been received Eidul Fitr will be celebrated across the country tomorrow (Saturday).
The meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held at Pakistan Meteorological Department, Gulshan-e-Jauhar, Karachi.
The Chairman, Central Ru et-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, announced that Shawwal moon was not sighted in any part of the country and Friday will be the last day of the fasting month of Ramazan and Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday. |
