TTP claims responsibility for Lahore, Mingora attacks
ISLAMABAD (INP): The Taliban on Saturday claimed responsibility for carrying out suicide attacks that killed at least 13 people and injured dozens in the Mingora, sources said. Talking to foreign news channel, a spokesman for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Azam Tariq said that his organization takes responsibility for the deadly blasts in Lahore on Friday and the Mingora attack on Saturday. “Pakistan has become a colony of Blackwater”, Tariq said, referring to the company now known as Xe Services that provided security to US officials in Iraq. "The government of Pakistan has become puppet of US" he alleged. The TTP spokesman warned that failure to halt operations against the Taliban will lead to more attacks. "Our 2,000 suicide bombers, who have already spread across the country, will act against security personnel and government installations," Tariq warned. He said the Friday attacks in Lahore and Saturday suicide bombing in Mingora were a retaliation for the killing of innocent "Mujahedeen" by Pakistani government under the orders of the United States. At least 13 people including four security forces personnel were killed and 55 other were inured in a suicide bombing in Mingora city. A suicide attacker, who was dropped off on a rickshaw, approached a checkpoint manned by police and military personnel. Security personnel opened fire when the attacker refused to stop. Moments later, the attacker blew himself up claiming thirteen lives and injuring more than fifty others, a security official said.
