Kidnappers’ ring leader put on exit control list

HAFIZABD: Kashif Ali Bhatti alias Kashi, ring leader of notorious gang of kidnappers, who had kidnapped various wealthy people including two of Hafizabad for extracting heavy amounts, has been put on exit control List, DPO said here.
The DPO hoped that he would be arrested shortly. Kashi of Salar Bhattian (Sheikhupura) was terror for the wealthy people in different districts, for the past few months.
Abducted person's dead body found: Dead body of 25 years old landlord Wazir Ali of Thatha Manik, who was abducted on 26th March was recovered from the Jhang Branch Canal near Chak Jhumra Wednesday.
Earlier, his car No. LEB 1588 was found abandoned near Jhang. On the report of his father, the police have registered a case against Meher Ali, his daughter-in-law Maroof Bibi and grand-daughter Fazeelat. According to police sources, deceased Wazir Ali had developoded illicit relation with a girl of accused family which was resented by them and they hatched a conspiracy to kill him after abducting him alongwith his car.
141 POs arrested, cattle worth Rs.1.7m recovered: As many as 141 proclaimed offenders including 27 POs wanted in murders, dacoity, gang rape, sixty one court deserters and 35 rustlers were rounded up and cattle worth Rs.1.7 million were recovered during the past four weeks, district police Officer Karamat Ullah Malik said here.
Addressing first press conference after taking over charge of DPO here on February 21, he said that integrated plan has been chalked out to tight noose around the outlaws to make the district crime-free. He said that in case of any heinous crime in the area, all the 16 entry and exit points including three motorway interchanges would be sealed where permanent pickets are being set up and CCTV cameras are being installed. He further said that from March 23, crackdown on carrying of firearms and illicit firearms holders and arial firing on marriages and other functions would be launched. Moreover crackdown on vehicle owners having factious number plates and applied for bike would be launched. He said that police officers have been strictly directed to eliminate outlaws and touts with iron hand and SHOs have been warned of strict action if they were found negligent while performing their duties. He said that CIA staff has been re-activated and it had recovered two stolen cars, rounded up 10 POs, seized 126 litres liquor and 365 grams heroin during the past one month. Moreover, Mini SHOs are being posted in all the 42 Union Councils and informal reconciliation committees are being set up to ensure minimizing crimes. In the city area, Muhafiz Squads are being reorganised to ensure round the clock patrolling.
The district police during the month under review have recovered 11 kilograms charas, five kilograms heroin, 545 litres liquor, unearthed five working stills and sent 34 drug peddlers to Jail. One kalshinkov, 47 pistols, five rifles, two guns and quantity of rounds of ammunition were seized from 88 anti-social elements, he added. Besides, three gangs of dacoits haves been smashed and stolen goods worth Rs.1.6 million and firearms were recovered from their possession.
