PESCO carrying out 6 to 9 hours load sheddingRCC conducting extra power outages to save system

Report PESHAWAR: Chief Executive of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) Muhammad Wali has asked the consumers to conserve energy in the current prevailing situation.PESCO’s Director Public Relations Shaukat Afzal said the company is carrying out 6 to 9 hours of load shedding on daily basis while it was actually Regional Control Centre (RCC) which was carrying out the rest of hours load shedding.Some times the distribution system was badly overloaded and in such situation to avoid the damage of system RCC had to carry out forced load shedding in addition to routine load shedding which cannot be anticipated, Shaukat Afzal said.He said the power company understands the problem and is trying its best to overcome the problem as soon as possible.However, the respected PESCO consumers in their own and the national interest should immediately stop extra use of electricity like use of air conditioners, keep all extra lights put off and must use energy savers instead of bulbs and tube lights, do not use motor pumps and other electric equipments in peak hours, he appealed.He appealed the people to remain calm and be patience and do not take law into their hands.
