PESHAWAR: The President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Mian Nawaz Sharif said that reopening of NATO supplies should be conditioned with an end to drone attacks.
Speaking at a gathering at which Engineer Amir Muqam joined the PML-N here on Friday, Nawaz Sharif said the country needed to review the relations with America due to changing circumstances.
He said the government should not surrender to pressures and referred to the 1998 days when he received telephones from world leaders threatening that sanctions would be imposed on Pakistan if it carried out nuclear tests. He said even he was offered that Pakistan would be provided an aid of $ 5 billion but he took the courageous decision and raised nation’s head.
Nawaz Sharif said the PML-N never compromised on national interests. He said the drone attacks must be brought to a close, Kashmir issue be resolved and all foreign bases closed. He said on the request of the Prime Minister he sent party Members to the PCNS and to discuss other national issues including hike in PoL prices. The PML-N President said the rulers have destroyed every thing and the country is being thrown into loadshedding’s darkness.
He said the dictators and some politicians dismembered the country Had the dictators allowed the country on democratic path, it would have been making progress and there would not have been arms in the hands of our youths in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. He said a dictator was responsible for the situation in Balochistan. He said he had given the approval of JF Thunder project.
He said the PML-N was the only party which got 2/3 mandate of the people.
Referring to President’s statement about his father, Nawaz Sharif said every one wants to attend the funeral prayers of his father but the dictator did not allow him. However he said his father’s Nimaz-e-Janaza was offered in Khana-e-Kaaba. He said it was his earnest desire to lay his father in grave himself but neither he nor Shahbaz Sharif, their mother and other family members were allowed to come with the dead body.
Nawaz Sharif said when he was in London, Zardari’s father was in a hospital there and he alongwith Syed Ghaus Ali Shah went to meet him and inquire about his health. He said he still prays for his forgiveness by Allah Almighty. Welcoming Engineer Amir Muqam in the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif congratulated him for taking a wise decision and hoped that this would make the party more fiable and popular in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.
