Budget allocates Rs1.85b for new housing projects: Shabab

PESHAWAR (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise and Taxation, Liaqat Shabab said presentation of 2012-13 budget is achievement of the coalition government of ANP and PPP that proved the triumph of democratic values in the province.He termed the budget balanced and attributed the increase of funds is a result of harmony developed among provinces after NFC Award.Taxation Minister said that in next financial year various projects would be initiated under housing department and a new housing scheme on self finance basis would be started in Jalozai. The minister said Rs 1.85 billion has been allocated for ten new projects of housing sector in next financial year. He said that about Rs 9.88 billion are expected under the head of general sales tax on services while provincial receipts of Rs 7.81 billion have been estimated in budget 2012-13.Liaqat Shabab said that despite unfavourable conditions various steps have been taken in the budget for the development of government departments that would provide a significant relief to people and bring a pleasant change in their lifestyles.
