Two killed, four injured as mortar hits house

JALALABAD (AIP): Two persons were killed and four women of the same family sustained injuries when a mortar round hit their home in Daulat Shah district in Laghman province last night, an official said Sunday .
A mortar round fired by the armed opponents hit home of a teacher, Muhammad Mirza in Khas Daulat Shah village in Daulat Shah district last night, leaving a woman among two persons dead, the Laghman governor's spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak told the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP). Four more women of the same family were injured, he added.
The injured were taken to the hospital where they were stated to be in stable condition, he said.
The governor's office condemned the attack and demanded of the armed opponents to protect lives of civilians, he maintained.
