CM's tent office to be set up at sports stadium

HAFIZABAD: Temporary Tent Office of the Chief Minister of the Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will be set up in the Sports Stadium Hafizabad tomorrow where the Commissioner Gujranwala, Regional Police Officer, Gujranwala, District Coordination Officers and District Police Officers of six districts of the Gujranwala Division would brief about ongoing development schemes and law and order situation in their respective district.
This was revealed by District Coordination Officer, Hafizabad Muhammad Asif. Chief Minister would himself hear complaints of general public at District Complex Hafizabad.
He would inaugurate Computerization of Land Records under the Management Information System, established with the cost of Rs.14.40 million. He would also perform earth breaking of new Grain Market on Madhrianwala Road which would be completed at a cost of Rs.58.60 million.
One killed, ten injured as wagon overturned: One person was killed and ten others including four women were injured when the wagon in which they were traveling overturned near Lakrianwla on Pindi Bhattian-Sukheki Road today. The driver managed to escape after the mishap. The police are investigating. According to police source wagon No.LPT-1155 was proceeding to Sukheke Mandi from
Pindi Bhattian when reached the place of occurrence its one tyre exploded as a result of which the vehicle overturned. Muhammad Asif of Muhammdpura Sukheke died on the spot while the injured were removed to the nearby hospitals.
GEPCO further increases load-shedding: As the mercury has further shot op to 48, the GEPCO has further increased the load-shedding durations for the past twenty four hours.
Most of the people particularly children and old-aged passed sleepless night. The plight of patients can well be imagined in the hot weather. Local citizens have called upon the GEPCO Chief to take mercy on the citizens and reduce the durations of load-shedding.
Meanwhile, the Federal Minister Liaquat Abbas Bhatti today called on GEPCO Chief at Gujranwala in his office and directed him to reduce the duration of load-shedding in urban and rural areas of Hafizabad. He told him that due to prolonged load-shedding the paddy plantation has been badly affected.
