Robbers kill constable, injure seven

According to police, six employees of Borstal Jail Faisalabad headed by Assistant Superintendent Muhammad Asif were returning after drawing Rs 02. million salaries of employees when four armed bandits intercepted the jail van near Koh-e-Noor Chowk on Jaranwala Road.
They snatched Rs 2 million at gunpoint and opened fire in a bid to escape. As a result, police constable Tahir died on the spot while Assistant Jail Superintendent Muhammad Asif, driver Imran, constables Abdur Rauf, Mubashar Saleem, Nawaz and passers by Sana Tanveer and Arif were shifted to hospital in a critical condition.
