CM directs arrangements for upcoming Monsoon spell

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has strictly directed the district administrations of coastal areas especially the Karachi, Thatta and Badin districts to adopt all possible measures to face any eventuality during upcoming spell of monsoon rains as predicted by the Met Department.
Chief Minister Sindh stressed upon all the concerned Deputy Commissioners, heads of District Disaster Management committees, Provincial ministers and Members of Provincial Assembly to monitor the situation closely and make advance arrangements evacuation of people to safer places in case of any emergency. He has further advised the fishermen not to go in deep sea and should keep their boats at coastal lines.
Meanwhile, CM Sindh while taking serious notice about the complaints of open mainholes in Hyderabad has directed the district administration and local government Departments to immediately cover the manholes and ensure the safety of the lives of the people specially children and old age people. Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that heavy torrential rains have been predicted and open man holes are posing great threat to the lives of the children and old age people.
He directed the officers of district administrations and local government throughout province to properly cover the mainholes so that there could be no any loss to human lives.
