20m breach in canal floods four villages

According to details, a 20 meter breach emerged in Feeder Canal near Gambat area of Khairpur late on Monday night.
The water flooded four villages and crops cultivated on hundreds of acres of land were destroyed.
The flood water damaged the stone and mud made houses, walls which collapsed while farmers had to suffer millions of rupee losses.
The local people on self help basis started the efforts to fill the breach but no official of irrigation department or district administration visited the scene to observe the situation.
