Protesters blocked Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway for one hour

PESHAWAR: Enraged mob staged a protest demonstration and blocked Ring road and Motorway for traffic here on Monday.
According to details, protestors from Acheni Bala area blocked Ring road and the Motorway for traffic. The mob chanted slogans against the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and demanded an end to the rampant load shedding. The protestors also pelted vehicles which tried to bypass
Meanwhile, residents of Nowshera, Akbarpura, Ghari Momin, Jabba Dawudzai, and Camp Korona also took to the streets against unannounced and prolonged load shedding.
In Khyber Agency, doctors of the Agency Headquarter in Landi Kotal went on indefinite strike due to ongoing load shedding.
Residents took to Pindi road grid station in Kohat and protested against the unabated electricity load shedding.
The residents of Peshawar and Charsadda during their protest blocked motorway for about one hour, which created problems for motorists.
A large number of people protested against loadshedding from nearby villages of Peshawar and Charsadda blocked Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway for more than one hour, demanding an immediate end to power outages especially during Sehr and Iftar.
The protesters turned voilent after police started aerial firing. Elite Force was than called for support.
The protestors later dispersed after the local administration stepped in and assured them of conveying their concerns to the relevant quarters for resolution.
A heavy contingent of police was deployed there to avert untoward incident. Later, motorway was opened for traffic.
