Water in downstream Kotri
Posted on 10 months ago
The last addition to the supply side was made 38 years ago when Tarbela dam was commissioned. It is only common sense that matters will improve only if the supply keeps up with the demand. Even if IRSA had 10 maf to spare where would it store it.
It is only by storing the necessary amount that a regulated quantity can be supplied to the delta every month for year round protection of the delta.
Until we build more dams to save the surplus flood waters, not only the delta but the whole country will keep suffering on an incremental basis. Stop criticizing and suggest solutions to the problem, but first understand the problem.
