BISP has given identity to those living below poverty, says Farzana

ISLAMABAD: The Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Farzana Raja on Friday said that BISP has given an identity to those Pakistanist living below the line of poverty.
While addressing an event organized by Benazir Income Support Programme at BISP Secretariat to distribute financial assistance, Waseela-e-Haq Cheques, Life Insurance Certificates and Benazir Cards to the deserving people, the chairperson BISP Farzana Raja the programme was providing a chance to the poverty elevated families to stand on their feet and to push them to the self reliance.
Farzana Raja informed the participants of the event that the number of families eligible to be registered with the BISP has risen to seven million, and out of these 3.9 million had started receiving the benefits of BISP.
She was of the view that the BISP has successfully achieved the target of making Pakistan a welfare state as promised by the government of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in accordance with the visions of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
