Arms display, aerial firing banned in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: DCO Nisar Ahmad has imposed a ban on display of weapons and aerial firing during the days of Eidul Fitr.
The decision to impose ban was taken keeping in view the apprehensions that general public may resort to aerial firing in festivity which may cause harm to innocent human lives.
According to an order, the ban on aerial firing and display of weapons was imposed to ensure peaceful atmosphere and maintain law and order on the occasion of Eid. It will, however, not apply to the armed forces and police personnel on duty.
The ban will remain enforce for a period of ten days from August 16. The Lakki Marwat and Naurang tehsil municipal administrations have been directed to give wide publicity to the order throughout the district by beat of drum.
The district police officer has been directed to ensure strict implementation and compliance of the order. Meanwhile, DPO Umar Riaz has directed the station house officers of all police stations to take measures for implementing the ban on aerial firing and display of weapons.
He said that the violators should be brought into the clutches of law and legal action should be initiated against them. Meanwhile, district police officer Umar Riaz distributed Eid gifts among the heirs of police martyrs at a function held in district police office on Friday.
Speaking at the function the DPO said that the police force would fight against militancy and terrorism in front lines and would not lag behind in rendering sacrifices for protection of people’s lives and properties. “He said that the police department was proud of the cops whop laid down their lives to the call of duty. “We will never forget our martyrs and will remember them on all special occasions”, he maintained.
Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer Nisar Ahmad chaired a high level meeting at his office on Friday to review arrangements for the upcoming two special rounds of anti polio drive scheduled to be commenced on Aug 27 and Sep 3 in the district.
“The decision to launch two special rounds of polio eradication campaign was made after detection of a confirm case in Dhoda village last month”, said EDO health Dr Abdul Ghaffar in the meeting.
He told that the district health department had constituted 340 mobile, 42 fixed, 10 transit and 5 roaming teams to immunize 134714 children below the age of five.
“Besides heads of line department have been assigned the task to supervise and monitor the campaign and identify missed areas children and play their role in covering refusal cases”, he maintained.
Human resource Development Officer (HRDO) Syed Khalid Israr Shah, District Collector Ihsanullah Khan, DDO health Dr Abdul Rehman, DHQ hospital medical superintendent Dr Muhammad Ishaq, DO education Muhammad Ayyub, National Coordinator Primary healthcare Dr Tariq Saleem Marwat, PPHI district support manager Ihsanullah Khan Marwat, district khateeb Maulana Abdul Wahab, MPA Anwar Saifullah Khan’s representative Ameer Mashal Khan, MPA Naseer Muhammad Khan Maidadkhel’s representative Aslam Khan and other officials concerned attended the meeting.
“A comprehensive action plan was formulated soon after surfacing of polio case in Lakki village”, DCO Nisar told. He said that routine immunization was carried out in Dhoda village besides two special rounds of anti polio drive would be launched to eliminate/wipe out the virus from the district completely.
He told that participation of female teachers should be ensured in the special rounds against polio as it would be helpful to administer oral polio vaccine to each and very child. Mr Nisar made it clear that the officials especially teachers showing negligence in anti polio drive would face drastic disciplinary action.
