Rs600m to be spent on ‘High Security Jail’

PESHAWAR (APP): The Provincial Government decided to set up a separate 'High Security Jail' for the most wanted and high profile prisoners in the province, says a press release of Home Department on Thursday.
It added that the establishment of 'High Security Jail' was a part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2012-13 and Rs600million were allocated for it.
A high-level committee headed by the additional secretary, development and finance of home department and consisting of District Police Officer Swabi, District Revenue Officer Swabi, XEN Swabi, District Monitoring Officer Mardan and section officer of Home Department visited District Jail Swabi for selection of land for this project.
The committee reviewed various issues pertaining to security and the provision of basic facilities.
