SC seeks details of all officers repatriated on court orders

KARACHI (PPI): Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday directed Secretary of all government departments to submit their reports outlining details of officers repatriated following apex courts orders and those, who had not yet relinquished their posts.
A two-member bench, comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali & Justice Amir Hani Muslim, pass this direction during suo moto proceedings against government officers, who were still working on deputation despite orders to relinquish their posts.
On Thursday, Dr. Naushad Sheikh appeared on court notice and submitted he had relinquished his charge after apex court gave judgment against deputation of officers. He submitted presently he is Advisor to Sindh Governor, but given charge of Acting Principal Secretary to Governor on temporary basis.
Supreme Court directed him to relinquish charge of Acting Principal Secretary as soon as appointment of Principal Secretary is made. Dr. Sheikh rendered undertaking to do so.
Apex court's bench also dismissed appeals filed by four officers, including DSP Faisal Waqasi, DSP Shaban Ali, Inspector Abdul Hafeez & Abdul Khaliq Panhyar. SC Bench observed "we have no discretion to pick and choose because we are here to implement orders passed by apex court in officers deputation case." Application filed by DSP Faisal Waqasi presently working in Sindh Police, was dismissed with direction to relinquish his present charge and join parent department, National Accountability Bureau. Similarly, application moved by Shaban Ali, who cited threats to his life by groups involved in sectarian killings for launching operation against them in Quetta, was also dismissed with direction to relinquish present post in Sindh Police and join parent department in Balochistan.
Application of Inspector Abdul Hafeez, presently working on deputation in Mines & Minerals Department, was dismissed with direction to report to his parent department.
Apex court directed officer Imdad Magsi to tender unconditional apology for holding office on deputation in violation of court order with direction to relinquish present charge and report to his parent department. He tendered unconditional apology with undertaking to relinquish charge and join parent department.
