New medical college to be named after Z A Bhutto

Official sources in Health department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told APP on Tuesday that the project has been included in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2012-13 with allocation of Rs. 350 million against which Rs. 100 million were set aside for the current financial year.
He said that students from backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan would be given special relaxation in admission in the Zulfiqar Bhutto Shaheed Medical College.
He said the government took this initiative to facilitate the students who could not get admission in the lone Khyber Medical College (KMC) Peshawar due to high merit.
Similarly, he said the government would strengthen post graduate nursing college, Peshawar by spending Rs. 19.970 million in current fiscal year against allocation of Rs. 100 million for it in the existing ADP.
He said nurses working in public sectors hospital would be trained under phase wise programme.
Similarly, equipment for the newly constructed Gynea/Paeds wards in Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad would also be purchased in current fiscal year with allocation of Rs. 180 million.
Special focus has been made to strengthen Khyber Medical University for which Rs. 200 million was earmarked in current ADP, he concluded.
