Kausar lauds polio workers’ performance in Fata

Orders to arrange helicopters for shifting Parachinar blast victims

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar Monday said that inspite of difficult pathways and other problems in FATA, polio workers were performing their duties successfully and with great zeal and enthusiasm to cut the roots of polio completely from their motherland.
This he said at the inauguration ceremony of Polio Control Room in FATA Secretariat Peshawar, last Monday. The ceremony was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Secretary Law& Order FATA and Secretary Social Sector FATA besides many officers from health and other relevant departments.
On the occasion, The Chief of Party Mr. Nazir Ahmad from Save The Children presented Key of vaccine carrying vehicle to the Governor for Directorate of Health Services FATA Secretariat.
The Governor offered note of thanks to the Chief of Party from Save the Children and said that such kind of modern facilities would help a lot in anti-polio campaign in FATA.
While talking to media, The Governor said that polio had been taken as national emergency throughout the country and everyone was struggling hard to remove that problem and to save the future of Pakistan.
He said that polio was under control to a greater extent in FATA but even then a single case could create a lot of problems.
He said those living in Islamabad could not realize the problems and difficulties of polio workers during their anti-polio campaign in FATA but despite all the problems, polio teams were successful in their mission against polio in tribal areas.
He directed all the political agents for full co-operation and participation in anti-polio campaign and warned them for strict official action against those who showed ignorance in this regard. He said that best workers in anti- polio campaign were being given rewards. The Governor further said that religious leaders in tribal areas and Pakistan army were showing full co-operation in anti-polio mission in FATA and said that the entire nation should join hands to finish polio completely from our beloved country.
Meanwhile, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has strongly condemned the bomb blast at Kurram on Monday and expressed his deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious lives.
Soon after receiving the news about the blast, the Governor directed the concerned authorities to arrange helicopter for shifting of the injured to Peshawar to ensure best available treatment facilities for making their early recovery possible. The terrorists involved in the heinous acts of terrorism, he added, will no more remain at large and would be brought to justice.
Expressing his deep sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, the Governor has also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and courage to them to bear the irreparable loss with patience. He has also wished early recovery of the injured.
