PPP new KP chief to organise party at grassroots

PESHAWAR: Member Provincial Assembly Anwar Saifullah Khan in his first press conference after taking over the reigns of PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has hinted at reorganizing the party at the grass-roots level to enhance the performance of the party in the next general elections.
The newly appointed PPP KP Chief also did not negate the chances of seat adjustment with the like-minded political parties in the province however, he added, the final decision in this regard would be taken after consultation with the central leadership of the party.
He thanked party leadership including Co-chairman President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur for posing confidence in him to take over as the party head in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He was flanked by Senior Minister Rahimdad Khan, Syed Zahir Ali, Engineer Mohammad Hamayun Khan, Shuja Khan, Nawabzada Mehmoodzeb Khan, Syed Qalb-e-Hassan, Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Kiramatullah Khan, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly, Faisal Karim Kundi and Senator Ahmad Hassan Khan.
"I will make every effort to resolve the grievances of the party workers," Saifullah said while adding that he would shift to Peshawar on permanent basis and would sit in the party's provincial secretariat so that the party worker would not have any difficulty in meeting him to discuss party matters.
When asked about filling the vacant provincial cabinet seats, Anwar Saifullah said that the seats would be filled after consultation with the senior party leadership and the workers in KP.
"I will visit all districts of the province in order to re-organize the party and to solve the problems of workers," Saifullah said.
In a major move after taking over the affairs of the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Anwar Saifullah directed the provincial ministers belonging to PPP to spare at least two days every week to meet the party workers for the solution of their problems.
APP adds: He said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was a leader of international stature as she sacrificed her everything for the rights of the people and restoration of democracy in Pakistan.
To a question regarding the perception of B-team of ANP in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa, he said it would be removed and it was his priority. Anwar Saifullah said ANP was on driving seat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and running the affairs of the government.
He said that the performance of the ministers, MNAs and MPAs would be reviewed before awarding them party ticket.
Earlier, former provincial president of PPP and Senior Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet Rahimdad Khan eulogized the services of Saifullah family for both the country and province and assured him full support on behalf of ministers and workers.
