My simple question is: Can an affidavit of such a shady person be trusted when no official account is maintained on such deals. Similarly can you trust the statements of Younas Habib, the known criminals, shoddiest character and a thief? Another important factor of case is that both are characterless persons and PPP loyalist. Asad Durrani was beneficiary of high foreign assignment in Benazir government and activated this case under the presidency of the most corrupt, political, partisan president conniving, manipulating politics from day one under the close watch of judiciary for five years without let and hindrance despite LHC though late verdict and still not implemented.
Another factor of concern is that of a person heading FIA whom judiciary has put question mark for his being ‘amin’ has been trusted to conduct inquiry of the subject beneficiaries of the money dispersed. Is it fair? Then Gen Beg was awarded high medal of democracy by Benazir disproving that he overthrew her government. Ishaq Khan was posthumously convicted without any attorney pleading for him. The court judgment may be best legally but surely the PPP government has made it prejudiced, jaundiced, replete with pre poll rigging connotations and taking benefit against PML-N, Sharifs and Imran Khan exploiting it too. I really wonder why was the big hurry in adjudication the case just before forthcoming elections resulting in political, electoral advantage to PPP Zardari and Imran Khan when it could had been postponed for another 6-8 months and during this investigations conducted by SC itself to reach fair and independent conclusions, if it had to.
