Imran surpasses Altaf Hussain in irresponsible politics: Muqam

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Advisor to Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif and President of PML(N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engr Amir Muqam Friday termed the allegation of PTI Chief, Imran about bribe offer of Rs 10 billion in Panama case as `mean tactic' aimed at pressurizing judiciary.

Addressing a public gathering held here at Tahmash Khan Stadium, the PML(N) KP president alleged Imran Khan had surpassed Altaf Hussain of MQM in irresponsible politics. The public gathering was held in connection with joining of Hidayatullah Afridi, brother of MPA, Ziaullah Afridi of PTI. PML(N) central leader and MNA, Capt (Retd) Safdar was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Engr Amir Muqam said the politics of Imran Khan and doings of his supporters on social media were `shameful.' He alleged Imran had crossed all limits in criticizing state institutions and mudslinging on such organizations which had rendered very valuable services for the security and stability of the country. He condemned in strongest words criticism of Imran Khan over such state institutions especially on social media and termed it a maligning attempt by supporters of PTI.

Engr. Amir Muqam said Pakistan Army has played very appreciative role whenever the countrymen were in need of help. In this regard, he recalled army role in rescue and relief activities during devastating earthquake of 2005 and floods in 2010. He also criticized PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said no change had been witnessed in the province during its tenure. Imran Khan, he continued, had said that he would prefer to die but would not take loan for running affairs of government in the KP.

Whereas now the provincial government was begging for loans from international financial institutions, he added. He also criticized the Billion Tree Tsunami project and claimed majority of the funds of the scheme had gone into the pockets of Provincial Ministers.  "People of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are asking questions from Imran Khan that what improvement has been brought into province on the basis of which PTI was mandated," Muqam remarked. He said the Local Government system has also been made undeliverable to masses and merit policy is in tatters.

Engr. Amir Muqam also condemned in strong words suicide attack on convoy of Deputy Chairman Senator in Balochistan and prayed for the martyres. He also prayed for early recovery of injured persons.  MNA Captain (Retd) Safdar, in his address, said there is no change in the KP of 2013 and today's. He said in 2013, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif decided to give PTI a chance of governance, because people voted in its favour, but it failed to deliver and could not come up to the expectation of masses. He said it was the political wisdom of Nawaz Sharif that he gave chance to PTI, otherwise PML(N) was in a position to a form coalition government.

Capt (Retd) Safdar said the developmental policies of present government were not tolerable to opposition parties which are raising baseless criticism. He said there was no corruption scandal of present government which had brought economic stability in the country.  "The whole Pakistan is on the path of development except for KP which is far left behind due to policies of the PTI," Capt (Retd) said. He said the PTI had alleged that general election 2013 was rigged, but the Supreme Court held an inquiry and found all allegations were baseless.

The PTI is bent on anti-state policies and at a time of visit of Chinese President, Imran Khan staged sit-in at Islamabad.Due to wrong policies of PTI, the MPAs and leader of the party are leaving it and joining PML(N), Capt (Retd) Safdar added. He appreciated dynamic leadership of Engr Amir Muqam in energizing PML (N).
